Scale and Proportion !
Everytime we come across buildings with grand dimensions like a palace, a castle or a residence we "get lost" in their enormous spaces, high walls and different styles. They sure may give us the idea of some unique buildings where everyone would like to live in, but that's just an eye evaluation and therefore it is not always correct. That's why year after year many architects and researchers have tried to improve the concept and usage of two of the most important features of building in architecture, Scale and Proportion ! I believe that these two features, Scale and Proportion have their own place in architecture. They help a building to be functional, easier to operate within, connected as well as organized.
The scale refers to the relation between an object and a measurable quantity while proportion is the relation of many pieces to many pieces, in order to achieve pure harmonies. Today, we have different examples of buildings that can be analysed to understand these features, and by doing this we realise that the architects have used the Visual scale that refers not to the actual dimensions of things or the Human scale which to me is a better feature because it really approaches the human needs by keeping everything in balance, not exaggerated, functional and aesthetic. Just like the Man with a rising hand by Le Corbusier, which represents the essence of harmony. So, all in all, Scale and Proportion should be really taken in consider by every architect in his process of creating a building, because their importance is essential. A building should not only be big and beautiful, that's not the main purpose, it should be useful and responde to its main reason of creation. That's why the architects explore, find out different ways to organize the proportions, chose their individual measure scale and come up with a building where all is great and whole... !
