W hat is architecture ? Some people say architecture is a science, some others say it is art, while others claim that it is life itself taking shape. So what is architecture ? Do we have an exact answer to this? To me, architecture is the art and science of designing buildings and through it an architect tries to give people a different way of looking at the surroundings. Architecture can be socially aware, it can be functional, it can be beautiful and it can talk about issues that are going to be important for generations to come. So it is not just for what an architectural creation should look like, but what it should actually do and what should it speak for. It is true that architecture started as a necessity, people started practising and time after time they perfected this kind of art. Cause an architect should question, propose new ways of thinking, communicate to finally tell a story through their work. The role of architecture in every society differs for every architect ...

T he definition of art. Every time we mention the word "Art" each one of us gets hundreds of thoughts. We think about a poetry, a painting, a sculpture, a book, a song, an object, a building or a piece of nature since they all have a touch of art within them, they are art itself. We all have different thoughts and perspective about art, which makes it an elusive term, a relative thought, a metaphysical phenomenon, something which can be felt, lived, but never exactly defined. That's all what art is about. Giving us the chance to say something in our own way, giving us the opportunity to get creative, to communicate, to open our souls and minds, to represent something not only by the outward appearance but from their inward significance as well. Art is able to reach our deepest thoughts, to change our perceptions of things by requiring us to dig deeper in order to understand. Some people say art is a pleasure or an amusement, but art is much more than that. Art is a therap...
Assignment 5 : Redesigning our 2D Organization

Assignment 5 : Redesigning our 2D Organization " Rethink - Recreate - Redesign " It was time for us to get back at our 2D organization. This time our professors thought to give us the opportunity to rework with our own shapes, but not only that. We were given the opportunity to change the sizes of the elements as we thought it was the best. So, after doing the changes, keeping in mind all the advises of our professors I came up with a new design at class. But still, after discussing it with one of my professors I realized that my assignment didn't fulfill the requirements. I had respected the lines, I had made use of the background but not entirely and the most important I didn't have variation on the shape sizes.

Assignment 4 : Designing a 2D Organization in a Bounded Area II ( pair-share ) Pair with a friend and exchange your composition 💡 So far we had been working with our own shapes/elements and creations. But this time our professors gave us a different assignment. We paired up with a friend and exchanged our creations. Now we were going to reorganize our friend's work, by firstly identifying the rules which had been used, the shape transformation as well as the rules of general organization. This was an interesting and beautiful assignment, which had its own difficulties as well. Firstly we had to become familiar with the shapes. Then trying to figure out the rules which had been used by finally creating a new composition. My friend's composition was a complex taken care one. The shapes were multiplied and the sizes were respected as well. But on the whole the organization looked symmetric and that's what I kept in mind while doing my organization. Afte...

Assignment 3 : Designing a 2D Organization in a Bounded Area Using 3 geometrically abstracted projections as 2D design elements♦️🔺 Our third assignment consisted on reusing the three elements we picked before to make another design on black and white. The size should not be changed, the elements should not overlap as well as in touching one another their contours should not be lost. Keeping in mind this requirements and what I learnt from my class work I came up with a whole new composition. In this one the distance between the elements was maintained so that the elements don't lose their individuality. The lines of every element matched with the others by keeping some order among them. I created something abstract, but still there you can see an almost cube shape at the top, a circle divided in two parts or a hexagon.

The elements should have the same sizes and be not less than 6 per piece. After checking carefully the 6 prints of my leafs I chose 3 shapes who were a clear part of the leafs. And after cutting the shapes, multiplying them and creating the organization I came up with this final work. Of course as our first try not everything went alright with our composition. After discussing it with my professor I realized that some things were wrong. Even though I maintain the distance between the elements, I combined the lines of them, it still had problems like in the case of the separate ellipses .

Assignment 2 : Production of Elements for Design Understanding to look at abstract form🌿 Our second assignment consisted on searching for and selecting 6 samples of leaves in the Campus and translating them onto sheets of white drawing paper by projection. Than 6 different projections would be chosen to work on for a geometric abstraction of each. This assignment was interesting as well since it gave us the opportunity to work with a piece from nature itself, seeing how the prints were made, comparing the similarities and differences between them and discovering possible relations. Drawing of 6 prints of the leaves.

This had its own difficulty since we had to be careful on choosing the element, be creative and keep the balance between the elements. However, we were already familiar with the elements and this helped us with our composition . After picking the only square and multiplying it, in my composition I tried to keep the triangle form which was created when I put two of them close to each other. I tried to respect and keep the lines and the spaces between them as well and create an interesting composition.

Assignment 1 : Order , Dis-order , Re-order Rain of ideas.☂️ Our first assignment at Basic Design was given through an outside campus activity at " Cloud", a beautiful work of art created by the famous architect Sou Fujimoto. It consisted on bringing there the umbrella, placing it at the Cloud in every position we thought was the best and then relate it with two arguments. This requirement was beautiful and a little bit difficult at the same time cause the umbrella had to kinda become part of the structure. However, the assignment helped us increase our creativity by trying out new ideas, building self-confidence, expressing our personal thoughts, thinking deeper and getting motivated to do our best. My umbrella was a big one with brown parts. That's why when I fist went around the Cloud I noticed a part of the nature outside it. I placed my umbrella at this part of the structure cause I wanted it to look a piece of the Cloud and...
